Paint On My Hands

Wed Jul 8, 2009, 6:34 PM
  • Mood: Love
  • Listening to: No Line on the Horizon
  • Reading: The Amber Spyglass
  • Watching: Let the Right One In
  • Drinking: Wasser!!
A huge cup of coffee (Misha's Caravan Blend) and 3 cups of extremely strong iced tea later, I've finally put paint brush to canvas. This is to be a pic of two dogs seen in Ketchikan, Alaska last month. The color scheme is tempting me to name it "Dogs of William & Mary" though. I had everything nice and masked up, but got bored with straight lines. This is sure to be echoed throughout the painting. The dogs of course have no straight lines, but I may resort to even swirling up their bodies. I'll have to see. It's just an idea I have in my head at the moment.

Dead End has offered to help me warp up my loom. I'll start him on a very simple project - a new color scheme for the last scarf I did. Then I'll go from the simple, to the new (similar scarf, only no holes) to the ridiculous (a hanging made of overshot draft) which should be getting me in good shape for this show coming up in October which I am starting to be nervous about. I'm not nervous about what I have to show, but more about the gallery owners, whose negative side I was shown recently. Human nature. I shouldn't let it get me down. I'll just go in as positive as possible, but with thick skin.

I'm considering a re-design of my Melasdesign.com site. It's had more inquiries in the last 2 months having it only half open than I've had in a year with the whole thing up. This makes me think I need to simplify. I'll have to sleep on it.

Thank you so much for the fave on "Mozart" I'd like to invite you to listen to "Incense and Peppermints" by Strawberry Alarm Clock . From the genre Psychedelic Rock / Acid Rock This 1967 song is representative of the sounds of that era and genre. I hope you like it or at least find it interesting. [link]
