tiny scanner. A4. I used to have a tabloid one, but it croaked with the new OS. Damn technology! As I continue to photograph, it would be much to my advantage to set up some kind of stable lighting situation. Right now I just wait for the sun and put the stuff on the floor.
I only have an A4 scanner too, I used to have an A3 which was great because I often work on A3 size office paper I have left over from when I used to produce newsletters with it. they are a rare breed around here now and the one that I have found is way over my budget! Funny because there used to be plenty of them at reasonable prices. And way back in the olden days you used to be able to pick up a hand scanner for a song! I'd love a hand scanner again!
Sometimes I try photographing, especially if it is a figurative A3 size but I don't have the set up for it either and do like you do but often it seems to lack the definition I can get with the scanner - though the up side to photographing is that you have a better (more realistic) perspective of the finished work. ... I suppose that's a good reason to try and take better photographs but frankly I can never be that bothered
lol, its an old fashioned scanner that scanned about A5 size and you held it in your hand and ran it over a page and it would scan to your hard drive. I want one so I can scan bits of things for randomicity. They look a bit like barcode scanners. I'm sure I've seen one in a shop no that long ago but the price was too much.
